Ophthalmologist’s Office Has Eyes on Hollywood

Kirk Packo, MD, has always loved the movies. “Collecting also is a passion of mine, so collecting movie posters was a nice fit,” says Packo, chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Rush University Medical Center.

That passion’s unmistakable in the ophthalmology offices at Rush, which house more than 200 movie posters and memorabilia. Many embrace the vision theme — including posters for “For Your Eyes Only” and “The Eyes of Laura Mars,” to name a few — along with eyeglasses worn by the likes of Marilyn Monroe and Buster Keaton.

  1. How about Rocky II. Survivor sang the theme song, “eye of the tiger”. Hey, it’s not more of a stretch than Frankenstein 🙂

Pretty cool collection though… “Here’s Mud in your Eye”
