Child Life Month Celebration Continues at Rush

10-month-old Ethan and his mom celebrate St. Patrick's Day at Rush.

Last week we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with lots of green! To continue to celebrate Child Life Month and St. Patrick’s Day, we encouraged staff to wear green. We served a lunch in the activity room that was graciously donated by Vienna Beef of corned beef sandwiches, pickles and chips.

We even tinted lemonade green to keep in the spirit! Children and families were encouraged to take St. Patrick’s Day crafts to do together and help decorate the patients’ rooms. Everyone had a fun time and the day was very successful!

On Tuesday, we had a luau/beach day to continue on our Child Life Month Celebration.  We wish that the temperature would have been a little warmer, but it was still fun dressing like it was summer.

Our plans will continue today when we have another information table in the cafeteria. The celebration will end March 29 with a sports day. Everyone will be asked to wear items from their favorite sports team. We are really excited about how well the month has gone and look forward to the rest of our activities!
